Lawrence Meyer worked as a reporter and editor for 36 years, 31 of them at The Washington Post. He covered the Maryland state legislature, the attempted assassination of Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace, the Watergate break-in trial, the Senate Watergate hearings and the House impeachment proceedings of Richard Nixon. He also worked as an editor in The Post’s Outlook section and was the editor of The Washington Post National Weekly Edition.
