It's not a question whether the press is too adversarial or not adversarial enough, but how diligently the press searches for the truth. The Founding Fathers specifically included freedom of the press in the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights, singling out the press to be free to report what the officials in power do not want the people to know. More straight-forward investigative reporting is needed – full time.
